About franklin county crush.
Franklin County Crush is a competitive traveling softball team under Greenfield Girls Softball League (GGSL). This group competes at various tournaments around New England and New York beginning in May. We are currently building a team for 10U, looking for players ages 10 and under (as of 9/1/2023). This is a great opportunity to strengthen skills and have fun!
Time commitment.
Practice
We will have practice 2-3 evenings per week.
Tournaments
Generally, the Crush team participates in 4-5 tournaments including the Memorial Day Bash at Murphy Park on Memorial Day weekend. Each tournament consists of 2-4 games on Saturday and at least one game on Sunday. Tournaments can
be anywhere from Massachusetts to New York or Rhode Island. Some require overnight stay while others are close enough to travel to.
Volunteering
The Memorial Day Bash is our tournament and needs as many volunteers as possible to help run it smoothly. Help with the field, collecting raffle prize donations, and working in the concession stand are examples of areas we need help
with. Many hands make light work and help make the weekend a success!

Below is a breakdown of the estimated costs for the season.
Registration: TBD
Covers a portion of tournament fees.
Scratch Ticket donation (for fundraising): $10 Scratch ticket donation and selling of 15 raffle tickets per player to cover uniform expenses.
Raffle Donation: This is optional and the amount is up to you. It could also be a donation from a business you may have connections to.
Hotel Stays: This typically ranges from $130 to $175 a night depending on the tournament location and availability of hotels. There are at least two tournaments that require overnight stay because of their location. We try to arrange
group rates, but each family makes their own accommodations and pays out of pocket for those expenses.
Equipment: This will vary depending on what your child has already. Helmets, cleats, glove, and facemask are your responsibility and are mandatory for each player. Optional recommended equipment includes a
bat, batting gloves, sunglasses, bag, water bottle, etc. Sometimes secondhand items can be found at consignment stores, the Sport Shack, GGSL donation bin, Facebook Marketplace, or Craigslist to keep costs low.
